Students between the ages of 13 and 18 are invited to take part in a global online science fair, sponsored by Google, CERN, The LEGO Group, National Geographic, and Scientific American.

Welcome to the Google Science Fair Registration

Google is looking for the brightest, best young scientists from around the world to submit interesting, creative projects that are relevant to the world today.

The Google Global Science Fair 2011 competition described in these Official Rules (the “Competition”) begins January 11, 2011 at 12:00:01 AM Eastern Time U.S. (“ET”), and ends on or about July 11, 2011 at 11:59:59 PM ET

The Grand Prize

A National Geographic Expedition
The Grand Prize winner(s) plus one parent or guardian per winner will win an amazing 10 day trip to the Galapagos Islands with National Geographic Expeditions. Traveling aboard the National Geographic Endeavour the winner(s) will visit Darwin’s living laboratory and experience up-close encounters with unique species such as flightless cormorants, marine iguanas, and domed giant tortoises.
Google will cover the cost of Economy Class flights to the Galapagos from the winner’s home. The prize is valid for one year from 11 July 2011 and must be booked directly via National Geographic expeditions. The prize does not included items of a personal nature such as internet usage, laundry or spa services. Bookings are subject to availability.
The one (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive a US$50,000 Scholarship from Google and his or her choice of experience from CERN, Google, LEGO or Scientific American and a trip to the Galapagos Islands with National Geographic Expeditions.

The two (2) Category Winners who did not win the Grand Prize will receive a US$25,000 Scholarship from Google and Sponsor’s choice of Experience from CERN, Google, LEGO or Scientific American. The offered Experience Prizes will consist of one (1) the following (ARV of each $3,500):
